Laboratory Technician III at Scruples Resources

Position Overview

• The Lab Tech 3 role is a senior position responsible for overseeing laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with testing standards, and supporting advanced sampling and analysis on the FPSO.
• This role requires extensive technical expertise and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise all sampling and testing activities on crude oil, gas, and water streams, including:
  • Reid Vapour Pressure (ASTM D323).
  • Total Oil & Grease in produced water.
  • Microbial and physicochemical analysis of potable water.
  • Testing for TDS, pH, dissolved oxygen, residual chlorine, and other parameters.
• Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.
• Ensure compliance with ASTM and industry-standard testing methods.
• Interpret test results and provide operational recommendations to optimize production quality.
• Develop and update laboratory procedures and quality control documentation.
• Train and mentor Lab Tech 1 and Lab Tech 2 personnel to ensure adherence to standards.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies in laboratory activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years in laboratory analysis, including leadership roles in oil and gas operations.
• Skills:
  • Expert knowledge of ASTM testing methods and advanced laboratory techniques.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
• Certifications: Offshore safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
