Laboratory Manager at Fadac Resources

Job Resposibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring accurate and timely analysis of construction materials.
• Develop, implement, and enforce rigorous quality assurance and control procedures.
• Supervise and mentor laboratory staff, fostering a culture of performance and accountability.
• Liaise with project management teams to provide data-driven insights and recommendations for material utilization.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to laboratory equipment and testing methodologies.
• Develop and implement laboratory procedures and protocols to ensure accurate and time-testing of construction materials.
• Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment and initiate procurement of necessary items.
• Perform quality control testing to assess the strength, durability and suitability of materials for construction projects.
• Prepare reports on Laboratory activities, test results and equipment maintenance.
• Conduct and oversee a wide range of tests on construction materials, including soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt and steel.
• Interpret test results and provide recommendations to project teams regarding material selection, design specifications and construction methods.
• Participate in project meetings, site visits and inspections as required.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols among laboratory staff.
• Coordinate with external testing laboratories or consultants as necessary to supplement in-house testing capabilities

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field from a reputable university.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a construction laboratory environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role. Proficient in using laboratory equipment and software for materials testing.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership abilities, with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Capacity to work under pressure and within tight timelines.
• Familiarity with local and international construction standards and regulations.
