We are seeking a Junior Maintenance Technician to support engine room operations and maintenance of marine utility systems onboard. The role involves assisting with equipment operation, routine and corrective maintenance, safety monitoring, and emergency response activities in line with approved company and regulatory procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with start-up, operation, monitoring, and shutdown of engine room and utility systems
Stand engine room watches and support daily operational activities as assigned
Perform routine and corrective maintenance under Permit to Work (PTW) procedures
Safely isolate and reinstate equipment for maintenance and repairs
Conduct routine equipment inspections, safety checks, and housekeeping
Support environmental protection and pollution control measures
Accurately record maintenance activities and report defects or abnormalities
Participate in drills and emergency response duties as outlined in the station bill
Carry out additional technical and safety-related tasks as assigned by supervisors
Requirements
STCW III/1 (Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch)
1–3 years experience in a marine or engine room environment
Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and utility systems
Familiarity with safety systems, PTW processes, and isolation procedures
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
