    Junior Accountant

    About the job

    • The Junior Accountant will support the finance department in maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, tracking daily sales from all stores, and ensuring smooth financial operations across the company’s locations.
    • The role requires attention to detail, timeliness, and a willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic retail environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Record daily financial transactions and assist in posting journal entries.
    • Track daily sales and reconcile POS, cash, and bank payments from all branches.
    • Prepare and maintain petty cash records.
    • Support the preparation of monthly management reports.
    • Perform bank and account reconciliations.
    • Assist with statutory deductions
    • Maintain accurate filing of financial documents (receipts, invoices, payment vouchers, etc.).
    • Support the finance team during audits and stock-taking exercises.
    • Ensure compliance with financial policies and internal controls.
    • Provide administrative and accounting support as assigned

    Requirements

    • B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • 2–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (experience in a retail)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software 
    • Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
    • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
    • Integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work under minimal supervision.

    Preferred Skills

    • Familiarity with POS and sales reconciliation.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.
    • Eagerness to learn and grow in a structured finance department.
