Junior Account Officer at Wells Accounting and Tax Services

Responsibilities

• Gathers data and assists in preparing credit files
• Follows up on standard reminders or lower value debts
• Send statements, reminder, and updates to customers
• Assists in data entry and basic reporting
• Escalates complex cases to senior staff
• Supports the Credit Control Officer in day-to-day tasks.
• Works under supervision, following procedures and escalating issues when necessary
• Handles more routine or lower-risk accounts.
• Limited or no decision-making authority. Primarily supports and follows the direction of the credit control team
• Keeping record of hard copies of import job files done with our customers.
• Managing a book of debtor accounts to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.
• Proactively managing overdue accounts, implementing effective debt recovery procedures, and following up with clients.
• Providing regular reports on receivables and overdue accounts to senior management.

Qualifications

• Candidate should have B.Sc / HND or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance or relate field
• 2 years experience in Accounting or related field
• Accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
• Familiarity with accounting software, such as Excel, and credit control systems.
