IT Programmer / Database Manager at Diadem Consults Ltd

Job Description

• He/She will support the coding and development of a survey tool for electronic data capture as well as provide data management support during the period of data collection.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that IT program of the survey checklist is compatible with the database as provided by the database manager.
• To supervise and manage all IT programming and related activities.
• Ensure the IT program is free of error and bugs.
• Conduct beta testing of the developed survey application.
• Ensure the survey application is optimal and meets global standards.
• Include relevant checks and skip patterns to ensure data collected is of optimal quality.
• Train supervisors and enumerators on the program using tablets.
• Provide technical support to data collection team during pilot of the program.
• Provide technical support and data management to the data collection teams during roll out the DVE exercise
• Collaborate with the Database Manager to ensure seamless upload of captured data on a cloud-based database
• Conduct regular quality checks on data throughout the data collection period, and provide feedback to field teams to improve data quality.
• Carry out data cleaning on all data collected, with clear documentation of all data cleaning steps taken
• Prepare and submit raw and clean data in STATA and CSV format at the end of the survey, along with full data cleaning do files.

Specific Responsibilities

• Design and code the data verification tool using an appropriate program
• Ensure logical sequence and validation codes are embedded in the program to ensure program data quality
• Train enumerators prior to data collection to ensure optimal data quality
• Conduct regular quality checks on data throughout the data collection period, and provide feedback to field teams to improve data quality
• Carry out data cleaning on all data collected, with clear documentation of all data cleaning steps taken
• Ensure raw and cleaned survey data is provided at the end of data collection in STATA and CSV files, along with all data cleaning do files

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess a Master's Degree in Statistics or a related field (e.g., Program Evaluation, Demography, Computer Science or related field) with 10 years relevant work experience.
