IT Infrastructure Support Intern at Green Africa

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing and maintaining on-premises and cloud infrastructure (e.g., servers, networks, storage).
• Support the setup and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for application deployment.
• Monitor system performance, uptime, and security, and respond to incidents or outages.
• Help automate repetitive tasks using scripting tools (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Support infrastructure as code (IaC) implementations using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Perform system upgrades, patches, and backups.
• Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
• Assist in enforcing security best practices, including access control and vulnerability management.
• Provide technical support for internal systems and infrastructure-related issues.

Required Qualifications

• HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs).
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems administration.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Basic knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, version control).
• Familiarity with Git and platforms like GitHub or GitLab.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or other orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
• Basic scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Exposure to security best practices in cloud and infrastructure environments.
