IT Application Development and Management Engineer (Microsoft Stack & SQL/DBA) at Dangote

Description

We are seeking an experienced IT Application Development and Management Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in developing, deploying, and managing applications using Microsoft technologies such as .NET, Azure, and SQL Server. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in database administration (DBA) and be familiar with Microsoft fabric technologies.

• Design, develop, test, and deploy web applications and services using .NET, Azure, and other Microsoft technologies
• Manage and maintain existing applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and security
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs
• Develop and maintain databases using SQL Server, including database design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
• Ensure data security, backup, and recovery procedures are in place and functioning correctly
• Implement and manage Microsoft fabric technologies such as ServiceFabric, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), or Azure Functions
• Work with the DevOps team to ensure smooth deployment and monitoring of applications
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing technical guidance and support to junior team members
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve application development and management processes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (BSc/BE) in computer science, Information Technology or any related field
• Relevant Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Developer Associate, Microsoft Certified Azure solution architect, MCSA, MCSD, MCSE are preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in application development and management using Microsoft technologies
• Strong proficiency in PHP, .NET, Azure, SQL Server, and database administration (DBA)
• Experience with Microsoft fabric technologies such as Service Fabric, AKS, or Azure Functions
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or Docker - Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSD, MCSE) are a plus.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud
• Knowledge of containerization using Docker
• Familiarity with agile project management methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban Experience with IT service management frameworks such as ITIL
