Investment Operations Associate at All On Partnerships for Energy Access

What will you do?

• This position is responsible for providing technical direction and support to the All On impact investment deal process and investee management under the supervision of the All On Investment Manager.

The successful candidate will add value by delivering the following:

• Carrying out initial technical evaluations of renewable and gas-based technologies and projects being pitched to All On for investment.
• Advising on technical and/or technical operations matters to All On and the companies within its investment portfolio.
• Reviewing investee procurement plans, business plans & project delivery strategies with a view to adding value to them from a technical standpoint.

Supporting the All On deal delivery process by:

• Testing the overall technological, operational logic and practicability of investment opportunities, projects and deals in play.
• Supporting All On deal leads in carrying out detailed technical due diligence on deals-in-process.
• Providing technical support to the work of the Policy & Partnerships and All On Hub teams as needed.
• Assessing established and emerging renewable energy resources, energy efficiency and low-carbon technology options in terms of potential, costs and environmental impacts
• Providing thought leadership on technical and operational matters within the Off-grid energy space in Nigeria.

What we need from you

• A strong technical background with a minimum of an Engineering or Core Science Degree from a recognized university but preferably Electrical Engineering. Commercial savvy and qualifications gained via additional degrees, certifications and experiences in the areas of business administration, finance, commerce, or accounting would be an added advantage.
• At least 5 years post-NYSC practical technical and/or operational working experience in the field of electrical engineering, preferably within grid, Off[1]grid or renewable energy companies within Nigeria or West Africa. These may be with power transmission, distribution, mini-grid, solar home system, commercial and industrial energy or other technology companies driving the energy access/renewable energy agenda.
• In-depth knowledge of the applicable technical certifications within the Off[1]grid/electrical engineering space – NEMSA certification, the National Electrical Code, metering standards, electrical standard design and construction practices, etc.
• In-depth knowledge of the permitting, certification, regulatory and operational processes within the power and Off-grid energy space in Nigeria.
• Above-average knowledge of applicable Health, Safety and Environmental standards and how they are integrated into the technical operations framework of engineering companies.
• Above-average understanding of the issues bedeviling and dynamics of the Nigerian power space – both Off-grid and on-grid.
• Excellent communication skills – written, presentation and oral.
