    Inventory & Stock Controller

    Role Overview

    • The Inventory and Stock Controller ensures the efficient management, monitoring, and optimization of inventory and stock levels across the supply chain.
    • This role involves overseeing stock flow, conducting regular audits, maintaining accurate inventory records, and implementing strategies to prevent shortages, overstock, and discrepancies.
    • The Inventory and Stock Controller collaborates with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to align inventory management with operational and business goals.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitor, track, and optimize stock levels to align with operational and business needs.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records by updating systems with real-time data on stock movements.
    • Conduct routine stock audits and physical counts to verify inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
    • Analyze inventory trends to forecast demand, prevent shortages, and reduce excess stock.
    • Coordinate the receiving, storage, and dispatching of goods to ensure proper handling and accurate stock movement records.
    • Implement and enforce stock control procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
    • Oversee the proper storage and labeling of inventory to meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
    • Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to forecast demand and adjust stock levels accordingly.
    • Develop and maintain key performance metrics to track inventory turnover, aging, and obsolescence.
    • Prepare and present detailed inventory reports to management, highlighting key trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
    • Identify inefficiencies in inventory management processes and recommend solutions for improvement.
    • Implement inventory management systems and technology upgrades to streamline operations.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
    • Liaise with suppliers to track deliveries, resolve discrepancies, and maintain positive vendor relationships.
    • Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to optimize stock handling and transportation.
    • Address and resolve inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, or other issues impacting stock accuracy.
    • Manage the return of defective or obsolete items and coordinate with vendors for replacements.
    • Any other task that may be assigned by your reporting line manager.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in inventory control, stock management, or warehouse operations.
    • Proficiency in inventory management systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
    • Strong understanding of inventory control processes, supply chain principles, and data analysis.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct accurate stock audits.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
