    Inventory Officer

    Job Responsibilities

    • Prepare purchase orders.
    • Receive, store and issue materials.
    • Manage stock levels and distribute supplies from stock.
    • Maintain stock records using manual or computerized systems.
    • Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures
    • Inspect the levels of business supplies and raw material to identify shortages.
    • Notify the Financial Controller when stock is low.
    • Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers.
    • Record daily deliveries to reconcile inventory.
    • Monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory.
    • Place orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus.
    • Analyze data to anticipate future needs.
    • Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships.
    • Reconcile physical stock with the stock in the system or inventory log.
    • Check the inventory software daily to monitor stock movement and maintain the optimal reorder level.
    • Ensure merchandise is stored in the stock room, using an orderly system for easy identification and retrieval.
    • Develop procedures to avoid overstocking items that tie up cash and creates storage difficulties.
    • Report to management on stock levels, issues, etc.
    • Perform all other tasks as assigned.

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree qualification.
    • 2 - 3 years work experience.

    Technical Skills:

    • Intermediate level proficiency in the use of MS Office suite.
    • Sound knowledge of the inventory management software (ERP) and inventory tracking tools (barcode readers, scanners, etc.).
    • Ability to track inventory and generate reports.

    Soft Skills:

    • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Outstanding written and oral communication skills,
    • Ability to work under pressure, and deliver promptly within tight timelines with little supervision.
    • Proactivity, organization, and a very strong work ethic.
