    Internal Auditor

    Job Summary

    • Global Peace Development is seeking a skilled and meticulous Internal Auditor to join our team. The Auditor will be responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of states' internal controls, risk management processes, and governance practices. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, exceptional analytical skills, and a strong commitment to ethical conduct and transparency.

    Required Qualification and Experience

    • HND/Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, or related field; professional certification such as ICAN, CIA, CPA, or CISA is preferred.
    • Proven experience (4 years) in internal auditing, risk management, or a similar role, preferably within a national or international organization
    • Strong understanding of auditing standards, internal controls, risk assessment, methodologies, and governance principles.
    • Experience in tax returns and compliance with government regulations
    • Proficiency in conducting audits using relevant tools and software; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
    • High ethical standards, integrity, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

    Description of Work

    • Conduct comprehensive internal audits to assess the organization's operational efficiency, financial integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Evaluate internal controls and identify areas for improvement to mitigate risks and enhance organizational performance.
    • Develop audit plans, execute Audit procedures, and prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings and recommendations.
    • Collaborate with state Accountants to guide best practices, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance requirements.
    • Monitor external audit processes and make recommendations and follow up on corrective actions to ensure effectiveness.
    • Stay abreast of best practices in auditing to continually enhance internal audit processes.
