Internal Auditor at Coolbucks

This is a full-time on-site role for a detail-oriented and analytical Internal Auditor with 5 years of relevant experience with a strong focus on microfinance operations, ensuring that the company operations are managed effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes, bring a solid background in auditing standards, strong business acumen, and excellent communication skills.

Skill and Responsibilities:

• Conduct risk-based internal audits across various departments and business units and providing recommendations to mitigate risks.
• Developing and implementing audit plans, conducting audits, and analyzing financial operations, systems, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. (e.g., CBN, BOFIA, NDIC)
• Prepare clear and concise audit reports with findings and actionable recommendations.
• Must possess good knowledge of IFRS.
• Must possess good financial reporting skills and must have good understanding and ability to prepare complex financial statements on Excel.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of credit risk assessment procedures, including borrower appraisals and adherence to lending policies, to ensure sound decision-making and minimize default risk.
• · Knowledge of microfinance operations, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Reviewing financial reports, loan portfolios, and other financial data.
• Evaluating internal controls specific to company operations, including credit disbursement, loan recovery, and cash flow management.
• Reporting audit findings, recommendations, and progress to management and the board of directors.
• Support external audits and regulatory examinations.

Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in any Discipline (2:1 or First Class)
• Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA or CPA certification is an advantage.
• Must have worked as an internal auditor for a minimum of 5 years in a bank/Microfinance bank/CBN regulated institution.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the banking and microfinance sectors.
• Experience with audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong knowledge of microfinance operations, lending practices, and regulatory frameworks.
• Candidate should have flair for financial reporting under IFRS.
