The Instrumentation & Control Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the reliability, accuracy, and availability of all instrumentation and control systems in the power plant through effective routine and corrective maintenance.
The role supports safe and efficient plant operations by minimizing downtime, optimizing maintenance response, and ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure I&C systems operation & availability by maintaining high availability and performance of all instrumentation, control and automation systems.
Support continuous plant operations through accurate measurement, monitoring, and control of process parameters.
Execute routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities for I&C systems.
Diagnose and resolve I&C faults and minimize response time to I&C issues.
Support initiatives to improve MTBF and reduce MTTR.
Apply root cause analysis techniques to recurring faults, implement corrective actions, contribute to equipment lifecycle cost optimization through effective maintenance practices.
Ensure availability and proper use of I&C spares, tools, and maintenance infrastructure.
Ensure adherence to approved safety procedures, OEM recommendations and quality standards.
Support preparation of maintenance reports and technical documentation as required.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth plant operation.
Undertake any other assigned tasks.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or HND in electrical/electronic engineering, instrumentation & control engineering, computer engineering/science or related discipline.
Minimum of 3 – 5 years relevant work experience, in the power industry.
Professional certification – COREN is an added advantage.
