Monitor and assess the condition of critically ill patients in the ICU, including vital signs, ECG readings, and other physiological parameters.
Work closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for ICU patients.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring accurate dosage and monitoring for any adverse reactions.
Operate and maintain life support equipment, including ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring devices, and other specialized ICU equipment.
Act as an advocate for patients and their families, providing emotional support and ensuring effective communication regarding the patient's condition and treatment plan.
Respond promptly to changes in patients' conditions or emergencies, providing immediate and appropriate interventions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
Implement and adhere to infection control protocols to minimize the risk of hospital-acquired infections.
Educate patients and their families on the patient's condition, treatment plan, and post-ICU care.
Job Requirements
Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred.
Completion of specialized training in critical care or ICU nursing.
Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or similar certifications.
Proficient in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and basic life support (BLS).
Competency in the use of ICU equipment and technology.
Ability to interpret and respond to critical patient indicators (vital signs, lab values, etc.).
Strong critical thinking skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Ability to make quick and accurate decisions in emergency situations.
Effective communication with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Ability to convey complex medical information in a clear and understandable manner.
Keen attention to detail for monitoring and documenting patient conditions accurately.
Emotional resilience to cope with high-stress situations and provide compassionate care.
Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Willingness to stay updated on advancements in critical care and nursing practices.
Physical stamina to handle long shifts and demanding patient care tasks.
Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic and fast-paced environment of the ICU.
