Humanities Teacher (IGCSE) at Rainbow Educational Services Limited

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Humanities subjects such as History, Geography, and Social Studies aligned with both the Nigerian and Cambridge curricula.
• Foster students’ critical thinking, inquiry, and analytical skills through interactive and inquiry-based teaching methods.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Humanities Department to design lesson plans, teaching strategies, and interdisciplinary projects.
• Prepare students for internal and external examinations (including IGCSE) through continuous assessment, revision sessions, and targeted feedback.
• Grade and record students’ work, monitor academic progress, and communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and counsellors regarding performance and conduct.
• Integrate current global events, case studies, and digital resources to make lessons relevant and engaging.
• Organize educational trips, debates, and cultural activities that enhance students’ understanding of historical, social, and geographical concepts.
• Ensure all school, curriculum, and state education requirements are met.
• Use technology effectively for lesson delivery, student engagement, and academic recordkeeping.
• Participate in professional development, workshops, and teacher networks to remain up-to-date on the latest educational trends in Humanities instruction.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in History, Geography, Social Studies, or Humanities Education (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of 8 years of teaching experience at the secondary school level (IGCSE experience is essential).
• Strong knowledge of both Nigerian and Cambridge (IGCSE) curricula.
• Excellent classroom management skills and familiarity with school operations and policies.
• Proficient in the use of educational technology and digital learning tools.
• Up-to-date knowledge of 21st-century teaching methodologies and contemporary Humanities topics.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, adaptable, and motivated teaching personality.
• TRCN certification is an added advantage.
