    HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) Specialist / Trainer

    Job Description

    • We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) Specialist to join our esteemed training institute.
    • The HSSE Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, security, and environmental practices during training activities, imparting essential knowledge, skills, and best practices to promote a safe and environmentally responsible work culture.
    • This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing policies, conducting risk assessments, and monitoring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
    • Additionally, the candidate will be involved in delivering safety courses, providing safety and security audit/documentation services to clients, and contributing to the continuous improvement of training operations.

    Job Description

    • Develop and implement HSSE policies, procedures, and guidelines.
    • Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification for training activities.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
    • Promote and enforce safe work practices during training sessions.
    • Implement security measures to protect training facilities, equipment, and data.
    • Monitor and address environmental impacts associated with training operations.
    • Establish incident reporting and investigation procedures.
    • Investigate accidents, near misses, or safety-related incidents during training.
    • Analyze incident data to identify trends and recommend preventive measures.
    • Maintain incident records and reports in compliance with legal requirements.
    • Implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
    • Monitor regulatory requirements and industry standards related to training.
    • Ensure training programs align with relevant certifications or accreditation standards.
    • Conduct internal audits to verify compliance with training regulations and accreditation bodies
    • Liaise with external regulatory bodies or auditors for compliance assessments.
    • Assist in the development of compliance training programs for employees.
    • Identify potential risks or hazards associated with training activities.
    • Conduct training-specific risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Collaborate with trainers and subject matter experts to address training risks.
    • Provide guidance on safety precautions and emergency response protocols.
    • Monitor training activities to ensure adherence to risk mitigation measures.
    • Analyze training processes and identify areas for improvement.
    • Develop and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with training teams to streamline workflows and procedures.
    • Monitor and measure the impact of process improvements on training outcomes.
    • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement of training operations.
    • Develop and implement health and safety programs for clients.
    • Conduct Risk assessment and audits for clients.
    • Conduct Occupational Health and safety trainings.

    Responsibilities
    Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE):

    • Develop and Implement HSSE Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines: Design and implement comprehensive HSSE policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the well-being of training participants and staff.
    • Conduct Risk Assessments and Hazard Identification: Identify potential risks and hazards associated with training activities and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures.
    • Ensure Compliance with Health and Safety Regulations: Monitor and ensure adherence to relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.
    • Promote and Enforce Safe Work Practices: Promote a culture of safety during training sessions and enforce safe work practices.
    • Implement Security Measures: Implement security measures to safeguard training facilities, equipment, and data.
    • Monitor and Address Environmental Impacts: Monitor training operations for environmental impacts and take necessary actions to mitigate any adverse effects.

    Training facilitation:

    • Training Program Development: Develop and design HSE training programs that align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and the specific needs of clients or trainees.
    • Training Delivery: Conduct engaging and informative training sessions to educate participants on various HSE topics, including workplace safety, hazard identification, emergency response, environmental protection, etc.
    • Content Preparation: Prepare training materials, presentations, handouts, and multimedia resources to support effective learning during training sessions.
    • Subject Matter Expertise: Demonstrate expert knowledge in HSE regulations, standards, and best practices to address trainees' queries and provide real-world examples.
    • Practical Demonstrations: Conduct practical demonstrations and hands-on exercises to reinforce theoretical concepts and enhance understanding.
    • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive learning environment, manage classroom dynamics, and encourage active participation from trainees.
    • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and administer assessments or tests to measure trainees' understanding and knowledge retention.
    • Feedback and Coaching: Provide constructive feedback to trainees to help them improve their safety practices and compliance with regulations.
    • Customization: Tailor training programs to meet the specific needs of different industries, job roles, or organizational requirements.
    • Stay Updated: Continuously update knowledge of HSE regulations, industry trends, and best practices to ensure the delivery of current and relevant training content.

    Incident Management and Reporting:

    • Establish Incident Reporting and Investigation Procedures: Develop procedures for reporting and investigating training-related incidents, accidents, and near misses.
    • Investigate Incidents: Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and analyze data to identify trends and recommend preventive measures.
    • Maintain Incident Records: Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of incident records in compliance with legal requirements.
    • Implement Corrective Actions: Implement corrective actions to prevent similar incidents in the future.

    Training Compliance:

    • Monitor Regulatory Requirements and Industry Standards: Keep abreast of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to training and ensure compliance.
    • Verify Training Programs Compliance: Conduct internal audits to verify compliance with training regulations and accreditation standards.
    • Liaise with External Regulatory Bodies: Collaborate with external regulatory bodies or auditors for compliance assessments.
    • Develop Compliance Training Programs: Assist in the development of compliance training programs for employees.

    Training Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

    • Identify Training Risks and Hazards: Identify potential risks or hazards associated with training activities and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Collaborate with Trainers and Subject Matter Experts: Collaborate with trainers and subject matter experts to address training risks effectively.
    • Provide Guidance on Safety Precautions: Offer guidance on safety precautions and emergency response protocols during training.

    Training Process Improvement:

    • Analyze Training Processes: Analyze training processes and identify areas for improvement.
    • Implement Process Enhancements: Develop and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Streamline Workflows and Procedures: Collaborate with training teams to streamline workflows and procedures.
    • Monitor Impact of Improvements: Measure the impact of process improvements on training outcomes and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related fields.
    • Professional certifications in HSSE, such as NEBOSH, OSHA, ISO 14001, or equivalent.
    • Proven experience in health, safety, security, and environment roles, preferably in the training or education sector.
    • Experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
    • Familiarity with incident management and investigation procedures.
    • Previous involvement in compliance audits and regulatory assessments is desirable.
    • Excellent knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to training safety and environmental management.

    Skills Required:

    • In-depth knowledge of health, safety, security, and environmental practices within the training industry.
    • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to training.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate training-related risks.
    • Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and implementing risk mitigation measures.
    • Experience in incident management, investigation, and reporting.
    • Knowledge of security measures and protocols to protect training facilities and data.
    • Familiarity with environmental impact assessment and sustainability practices.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and training teams.

    • Proactive and detail-oriented approach to ensure compliance and safety.
