    HR Assistant

    Reporting to: Human Resource Manager

    Scope: The HR Assistant would provide support to the HR Department in the effective management of the HR function.

    Recruitment

    • To manage applications as they are received, ensuring prompt review of every application.

    • To effectively carry out screening of applications using set criteria ensuring that only qualified applicants are shortlisted for further consideration.

    • To assist in the design of job descriptions for existing and prospective roles.

    • To ensure that job vacancies are promptly advertised, internally and externally, on various portals to attract talents. 

    • To coordinate the scheduling of interviews and the general interview process

    • To ensure that all recruitment administration is completed in a timely manner.

    • To coordinate the onboarding process for all new hires timely and effectively.

    • To carry out necessary reference checks and background checks for potential and new hires. 

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Assist in the computation of the monthly payroll

    Employee Relations

    • Assist with a whole range of employee relation issues as and when they arise

    • Assist in the development of HR policies.

    • Assist in the implementation of statutory as well as organizational HR policies particularly relating to terms of employment as stated in the employee handbook and other policy documents.

    • Support all internal and external HR related enquiries or requests.

    Other Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain digital and electronic records of employees.

    • Assist with performance management procedures.

    • Maintain calendars of the HR management team.

    • Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and agendas.

    • Assist in the coordination of training sessions and seminars.

    • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.

    • Complete termination paperwork and exit interviews.

    Other Responsibilities

    • To promote the welfare of children and to support the school in safeguarding children through relevant policies and procedures.

    • To maintain confidentiality, child protection procedures and policies. 

    • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with children from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.

    • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices.

    • To promote equality as an integral part of the role and to treat everyone with fairness and dignity.

    • To recognise health and safety is a responsibility of every employee, to take reasonable care of self and others and to comply with the Schools Health and Safety policy and any school-specific procedures / rules that apply to this role.

    • Participate in appropriate professional activities.

    • Participate in School extracurricular activities such as required

    • To continue professional development, maintaining a portfolio of training undertaken.

    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

    • Bachelor's degree in any field

    • 1 -2 years’ experience in human resource management

    • Effective people management skills.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

    • Proficiency in the use of MS Office, Excel, Powerpoint and related business and communication tools.

    • Effective organizational and time management skills.

    • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

    • Meticulous attention to detail.

    • Ability to accurately follow instructions.
