Job Details

• Transport Company’s products over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods.
• Input instructions into automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
• Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, tire chains, or spark plugs.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to the vehicles.
