    Head of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Institute

    Job Summary:

    • We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Team Leader for a Vocational Education and Training Institute with multiple Centres in Nigeria and West Africa. 
    • The Head of TVET would lead our institution's efforts in providing high-quality technical and vocational training programs. This position will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a diverse range of technical training programs. Your leadership will play a crucial role in equipping students with skills, knowledge, and practical experience necessary to succeed in the modern job market and drive sustainable economic growth.

    Responsibilities:

    Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop a compelling vision and strategic plan for the Institute, aligning it with national development goals and industry needs.
    • Lead the implementation of innovative teaching and learning methodologies to enhance the quality and relevance of technical education.
    • Overall administration of the Training Centre resources

    Curriculum Development and Enhancement:

    • Collaborate with industry partners and relevant stakeholders to design and update curriculum frameworks that meet current market demands and industry trends.
    • Ensure that all programs align with industry certifications and standards to enhance students' employability.

    Faculty and Staff Management:

    • Recruit, train, and mentor qualified and passionate faculty members to deliver high-quality instruction and hands-on training.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes professional growth and continuous improvement.

    Student Support and Development:

    • Implement student support services, including counseling and career guidance, to ensure students' overall well-being and successful learning outcomes.
    • Encourage student engagement in co-curricular activities and industry internships to enhance their practical skills and employability.

    Industry Partnerships and Placement:

    • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with industry leaders, employers, and relevant agencies to facilitate internship opportunities and job placements for students.
    • Organize career fairs and networking events to connect students with potential employers.

    Quality Assurance and Accreditation:

    • Oversee the accreditation process and maintain compliance with relevant regulatory bodies and accrediting agencies.
    • Implement quality assurance measures to ensure program excellence and continuous improvement.

    Financial Management:

    • Develop and manage the annual budget for the Institute, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
    • Explore and secure funding opportunities, grants, and sponsorships to support the Institute's growth and sustainability.

    Research and Development:

    • Encourage and support research activities that contribute to the advancement of technical and vocational education and address industry challenges.

    Requirements:

    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the field of technical and vocational education and training.
    • A relevant Master's or Ph.D. degree and senior management experience in Education, Technical Education, or a related field.
    • Strong computer skills and versatile knowledge of current trends and best practices in technical education and workforce development.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully implement strategic plans, manage budgets, and achieve performance targets.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills to establish and maintain partnerships with industry stakeholders and the community.
    • Proven experience in curriculum development, program accreditation, and quality assurance.
    • Passion for promoting skills development, employability, and contributing to national economic growth through technical education.
