    Head of Finance

    Job Summary

    • The Head of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of PalmPay in Nigeria, including strategic financial planning, budgeting, risk management, and compliance.
    • This individual will provide leadership to the finance team, implement efficient systems, and ensure the company’s financial sustainability in alignment with business goals.

    Key Responsibilities
    Financial Strategy & Planning:

    • Develop and execute PalmPay’s financial strategy to support business growth and profitability
    • Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes in collaboration with business unit heads
    • Monitor key financial metrics and provide actionable insights to executive management.

    Financial Management & Reporting:

    • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
    • Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local accounting regulations
    • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimize operational efficiency.

    Risk Management & Compliance:

    • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy
    • Oversee compliance with tax laws, regulatory reporting, and audit requirements
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks affecting the company’s operations.

    Team Leadership & Development:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team
    • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
    • Ensure the team is equipped with the latest tools, knowledge, and practices in financial management.

    Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Partner with the CEO, Group CFO, and other executives on strategic initiatives
    • Liaise with banks, investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies
    • Support fundraising, investment appraisals, and strategic partnership negotiations.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
    • Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CFA required
    • Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior management role—preferably in fintech, banking, or financial services
    • Strong understanding of IFRS, tax regulations, and compliance in Nigeria
    • Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and strategic execution
    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • High proficiency in financial systems, ERP tools, and Microsoft Excel.
