As Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire engineering function powering our core payments infrastructure, merchant platforms, APIs, and integrations.
You will shape engineering culture, drive technical excellence, and ensure our systems scale securely with the business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a team of engineers across DevOps, Backend, Frontend, QA, and Security to build resilient, secure, and scalable fintech infrastructure.
Develop technical roadmaps in alignment with product and business objectives, especially around payment gateway optimization, platform performance, and API expansion.
Oversee architectural decisions across services such as payment initiation, settlement processing, fraud prevention, KYC/AML integration, and real-time transaction tracking.
Drive adherence to engineering best practices including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration.
Hire, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering teams and future technical leaders.
Define SLAs, monitor performance metrics, and ensure system uptime meets fintech-grade expectations (99.99%+).
Work closely with regulatory and compliance teams to ensure security standards like PCI-DSS, SOC2, and ISO27001 are consistently met.
Collaborate with product, design, and commercial teams to ensure timely and scalable delivery of features.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
8+ years of progressive software engineering experience with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
Experience leading engineering teams in a fintech, payments, or high-scale transaction processing environment.
Deep understanding of distributed systems, payment routing, microservices, and API security.
Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), modern backend frameworks, CI/CD, and observability tools.
Proven ability to scale engineering organizations and set up strong engineering culture.
Strong technical judgment, business acumen, and stakeholder management skills.
