About the Role

• As Head of Engineering, you will lead the development of secure and scalable fintech solutions, overseeing the technical strategy and execution of our digital payments’ infrastructure. You will manage cross-functional teams, ensuring that our solutions meet industry standards and business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement a scalable technology strategy for digital payment solutions.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
• Drive the development of secure, efficient financial APIs and transaction systems.
• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure and scalable payment solutions, ensuring seamless integration with NIBSS, NIP, and e-payment channels.
• Ensure compliance with financial security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with product, business, and regulatory teams to build cutting-edge fintech solutions.
• Manage regulatory audits, cybersecurity risk assessments, and ensure robust API management for third-party integrations with banks, fintechs, and payment processors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
• 8+ years in a senior technical leadership role, preferably within the fintech, payments, and/or telecoms industry.
• Strong background in financial technology architecture and digital payment systems.
• Proven track record in leading and mentoring engineering teams, fostering innovation, and driving high performance
• Hands-on experience with payment gateways, POS terminal management, and switching platforms
• Expertise in financial security, compliance, and risk management.
• Experience working with banks, PSPs, or fintech startups.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• In-depth knowledge of CBN guidelines, cybersecurity, and electronic payment regulations.
