Our client, a world class healthcare organisation is currently receiving applications for the role of Head IT. The Head IT will be responsible for the supervision, implementation, and maintenance of the organisation's information technology systems, services and needs.
He/she will ensure the secure and effective operation of all computer systems, related applications, hardware, and software used within the organisation.
Responsibilities
Oversee, handle, and direct the day-to-day operations and activities for a functional Information Technology unit, including ensuring the policies, procedures, guidelines, standards, and activities of the department align with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
Ensure appropriate controls are in place for the security of information assets by seeing that security risks are accurately identified, assessed, reported, and mitigated.
Design, plan and strategise for IT Infrastructure, Network, Information Security, Systems Software, Hardware work tools, and End user support.
Ensure proposed strategies are integrated with Business Development and Sales initiatives to drive profitability and business development.
Oversee the manning, productivity, performance, and impact of both the IT team and IT vendors for business operation support and continuity.
Source or change vendors that manage Servers, Printers & Scanners, Internet Services, Hardware purchase and maintenance, Software maintenance, upgrade and/or changes to mention a few.
Lead, direct and drive innovation where required to improve business performance and client service.
Nurture, discipline and strengthen the IT support team to improve in trouble shooting and solving problems internally before seeking external support.
Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or any related discipline. Additional certifications and/or a post graduate degree is an added advantage.
Minimum 6 years' post graduate experience in IT roles with at least 3 years' in a supervisory or leadership role.
Hospital Industry experience is an advantage.
Decision-making, confidentiality and use of initiative.
Assertive and confident enough to collaborate with the larger group of staff located in countries such as Paris for problem identification and resolution.
Multitask and supervise.
Balance cost management with effective service.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Perform and flourish at EXCO/ Management level with diverse nationals.
Collaborate effectively with peers.
Commute between Nigeria and Ghana. Typically expected to spend at least 2 weeks in Nigeria and at least one week in Ghana per month.
Lead a team of IT support officers looking after 3 locations in Nigeria and 1 large location in Ghana.
