    Head, Human Resources

    JOB SUMMARY

    The role reports to the Managing Director and will provide strategic leadership for all aspects of the Human Resources function including Talent Management (talent acquisition, learning, and development, performance management, succession management, diversity, and inclusion), Organisational Effectiveness, Workplace Policies and Practices, Compensation and Rewards Systems, Labour and Employee Relations

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design and implement Human Resource strategy in alignment with corporate objectives
    • Institute Human Resource objectives that will enhance a high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, and continuous development of a superior workforce
    • Responsible for manpower planning, designing, and driving recruitment and selection strategy for the organization
    • Act as the primary anchor for ensuring proper management of employee performance and career
    • Support, develop, and coach Line Managers in relation to their approach and consideration of people issues
    • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts, and helps resolve work-related issues
    • Manage employee working conditions, disciplinary and grievance procedures, equal opportunities, redundancies, and employee leave schedule
    • Manage the entire recruitment and selection life cycle – job requisition, job advertisement, shortlisting, selection tests, interviews, job offer letters, reference checks, employee induction/onboarding, and confirmation of new hires
    • Provide an atmosphere that allows talent to thrive and provide ROI on employee acquisition and retention strategy which enhances succession planning
    • Monitor and review compensation and benefits structure to ensure a balance between costs optimization and attracting/retaining talent
    • Coordinate the employee performance management system and processes – educating employees, goal setting, collation of appraisal results, arrange departmental lead review and feedback sessions
    • Create training plans and training budget in line with Departmental Leads review of employees’ training and developmental needs
    • Evaluate and monitor success of training programmes and follow up to ensure the realisation of training objectives
    • Organize in house learning and development programs for appropriate staff on a regular basis and ensures full attendance of both trainees and facilitators
    • Monitor and proactively identify issues or gaps in vendors service delivery benchmarked against SLA and take active steps to remediate

    REQUIREMENTS

    • First Degree in any discipline from an accredited university
    • Relevant professional qualifications – CIPM, CIPD, SHRM and / or Masters’ Degree is desirable
    • Minimum of seven (7) years cognate experience in the Human Resource Management function with at least three (3) years in a similar capacity
    • Good knowledge of Nigeria Labour Law as well as employment best practices (locally and globally)
    • Proven analytical, communication, problem-solving, leadership, negotiating and influencing skills
    • Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate effectively across all levels
