Head Financial Operations & Reporting at Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company

As Head, Financial Operations and Reporting, you will lead the Finance operations team in managing and controlling companywide expenditure as well as manage commitments/liabilities recognition process. Responsible for effective General Accounting, preparation and reporting of financial performance and taxation activities in compliance with appropriate generally accepted accounting practices, statutory guidelines and company’s policies and procedures

Role Accountabilities:

• Oversee tax administration (planning and compliance) company-wide. Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the finance operations and accounting teams.
• Delivery of a timely, accurate and reliable financial reporting that provides insight and aids the strategic decision-making process.
• Coordinate the development of an effective financial reporting system to ensure prompt preparation of reliable information for decision making by top management.
• Review and monitor enhanced financial transaction posting process to ensure company’s financial and information is of agreed quality and integrity.
• Coordinate the planning and management of corporate income and state taxes (deductions, account analysis, reconciliations and periodic remittance) and ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws.
• Coordinate the management and reconciliation of general ledger accounts in the system. Responsible for periodic book keeping review and financial close activities.
• Coordinate the preparation of final accounts and timely financial statements that reflect the company’s financial position and comply with statutory/regulatory requirements.
• Ensure the timely preparation of external financial reports to regulatory and supervisory agencies. Establish and maintain good relationships with relevant officials of the Regulatory bodies and Tax

Minimum Requirement

This opportunity is a Senior Management role responsible for leading the Company's financial operations, reporting, financial controls, and compliance. Successful applicants will typically possess the following criteria:

Education:

• First degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional accounting certification such as ACA (ICAN), ACCA, or CFA.
• Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC) registration eligibility or active status.
• Post-graduate degree (MBA or MSc) in
• Finance or Accounting is an added advantage.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 8 to 10 years of postqualification experience in financial control, general accounting, and operations reporting.
• At least 3 to 5 years spent in a senior management or supervisory role.
• Prior work history within the power, utility, energy, or heavy manufacturing sector is strongly preferred
