    Grant Writer

    Job Brief

    • We are looking to hire a Grant Writer for our foundation arm - Centre for Civic, Citizens' Welfare and Community Development (CWCD Africa). The organization uses emerging technologies to solve core development problems and promote social change in Africa.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Working collaboratively with the program team to identify funding needs and priorities, and to develop project proposals that align with those needs and priorities.
    • Write clear, compelling, and persuasive grant proposals for various funding opportunities, including government grants, foundation grants, and corporate grants.
    • Develop program budgets and financial reports to accompany grant proposals.
    • Stay current with funding trends and best practices in grant writing.
    • Ensure the team is regularly updated with grant status reports.
    • Interpret and follow application instructions and sponsor guidelines.
    • Build and maintain relationships with grant making entities, partners and stakeholders.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Creative Writing , English, Social Work, Public admin or related field
    • 3+ years of experience in writing grants for non profit organizations with a track record of success.
    • Proficient with Microsoft office packages(Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources.
    • Excellent writing skills and communication skills
    • Familiarity with budgeting and financial reporting.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and prioritize competing task

    Renumeration
    Compensation will be provided for successful grant writing and receipt, as well as a commission of 3% on all grants acquired.
