Job Summary

Responsible for the operations portion of power plants. Monitors and operates process control equipment, including valving, packaging, and engineering. Interprets plant procedures.

 JOB DESCRIPTION

• Manage and balance load and distribution of power to equipment as required, thereby ensuring that electrical circuits do not become overloaded.
• They must carry out daily mechanical checks of the generator, cables and any other equipment to ensure it is all working and distributing power correctly.
• Control and monitor boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment.
• Distribute power among generators.
• Regulate output from generators.
• Start and stop generators.
• Oversee plant operations.
• Alter amount of electricity output.
• Monitor and troubleshoot operating equipment.
• Ensure plant adheres to safety and environmental rules.
• Conceptualize, design, and implement plant improvement projects.
• Identify process deviations and perform root cause/corrective action.
• Conduct area inspections and audits.
• Perform calibration check of scale accuracy at the beginning of each work shift.
• Control and operate equipment such as loaders, drills, tractors, trucks, crushers, excavators, fork lifts, bulldozers and cranes.
• Handle material and cargo.
• Perform preventive and routine maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a good mechanical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Must also be physically fit due to the increased physical demands of the job.
• Must be a qualified electrician.
• BSc/HND in relevant fields
• Must reside within Sagamu and its environs.
