We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager, HSE /NCD to lead its Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and Nigerian Content Development (NCD) functions.
This is a strategic leadership role based in Lagos, requiring an individual with deep regulatory knowledge, strong stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record in driving compliance, safety culture, and local content performance within the oil and gas industry.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of HSE policies, programs, and procedures in line with national and international standards.
Oversee the implementation of Nigerian Content Development strategies and ensure full compliance with NCDMB guidelines and targets.
Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, including NUPRC, NCDMB, DPR, and other relevant institutions.
Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections across all operations to ensure safe working environments.
Drive a safety-first culture across all levels of the organisation and project sites.
Prepare and present regular reports to executive management and external stakeholders.
Identify local capacity opportunities and collaborate with procurement and project teams to maximise Nigerian participation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related disciplines (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
Certifications such as NEBOSH, ISO 45001, or equivalent.
Minimum of 10 years experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HSE/NCD leadership role within the upstream oil & gas sector.
Strong understanding of NOGICD Act, HSE regulations, and upstream industry practices.
Proven track record of interfacing with regulatory agencies and managing audit/compliance programs.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
