    General Manager

    As the highest-ranking executive (excluding directors) in this organisation your primary responsibilities involve offering direction to the company that ensures the long and short-term success of the organisation, in line with vision of the directors and the company chairman.

    Other duties/responsibilities include:

    • Overseeing all aspects of business including strategic planning and forecasts to aid growth and expansion in all branches
    • Developing business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term business objectives
    • Developing systems, policies and procedures to enhance productivity, cost effectiveness and efficiency (both in admin and in production/warehouse efficiency e.g., Kaizen)
    • Managing and accounting for all departments and establishing new ones to meet a more efficient working standard
    • Manage daily operations, improving the efficiency and profits of the company
    • Manage all the organisation’s resources and ensure there is no depreciation, and all capacity is utilised
    • Set/achieve weekly, monthly and annual revenue goals that aim to continuously grow the business
    • Assisting with management of employed staff and developing an efficient culture and motivating the workforce
    • Oversee recruitment (of high caliber, proactive individuals) and training of incoming
    • employees to create a high functioning team
    • Act as the figurative head of the organisation when communicating with the government entities and the general public – meaning a good understanding of the different government regulations and industry practice in terms of product certifications, imports and exports, tariffs and taxes are required
    • Spearheading the restructuring of the company
    • Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry in which the company operates in
    • Take an active role in daily business driving activities
    • Assist the company in gaining market share in all relevant Nigerian markets (and then Africa) starting with a consistent presence in the retail stores
    • Prepare regular reports for upper management based on consolidations with accountants and offer solutions to any existing problems, cost saving methods and other innovations etc.
    • Facilitate proper execution of marketing plans, promotional programs and visual
    • merchandising standards
    • Responsible for all financial achievements and losses of the company and should act accordingly

    General candidate requirements:

    • MSc/MA in Business Management/Business Administration or other relevant fields (Proof will be required)
    • Proven experience as a general manager (or similar roles)
    • Strong analytical ability and comprehension
    • At least 10 years’ proven experience in business leadership with evidence of success
    • Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision
    • Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles
    • Understanding of plastic manufacturing, cosmetic manufacturing or sanitary products production.
    • Experience in the plastic manufacturing sector
    • Computer literate and familiar with online marketing
    • Problem-solving aptitude
    • Above-average communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
    • Working knowledge of human resources processes
    • Strong working knowledge of operational procedures
    • The ability to deal and manage stress app

    For position 1:
    A Minimum of 5 years, recent General Management experience in a Manufacturing
    company that produces (some or all the following):

    • Plastic furniture (chair, tables)
    • Coolers
    • Luggage
    • Soap
    • Sanitary pads/diapers
    • Preform
    • Disposable cups and containers
    • Hair thread, Etc.

    The ability to create an improved organisational culture and implement it in an existing workplace
    The ability to comprehend large scale planning and manage multiple different products lines simultaneously
    Rebranding / modernisation of a company

    For position 2:
    A Minimum of 5 years, recent General Management experience in a Manufacturing company that produces FMCG’s COSMETICS, FRAGRANCE and SKIN CARE PRODUCTS in particular
    A track record of introducing new products successfully into markets and building up a brand from scratch.
