Job Description:

As a gateman, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the security and controlled access to a designated area or premises. You will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the entry and exit of vehicles, visitors, and goods. Your role is crucial in maintaining the safety and security of the facility and enforcing relevant rules and regulations.

Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and control access to the premises, verifying the identity of individuals entering or exiting the facility.
2. Operate and maintain the gate and related security equipment, such as intercom systems, barriers, and CCTV cameras.
3. Record accurate information of incoming and outgoing vehicles, visitors, and goods.
4. Inspect vehicles entering or exiting the premises for authorized access, valid permits, and proper documentation.
5. Direct and guide visitors to designated parking areas or appropriate locations within the facility.
6. Enforce parking regulations and ensure orderly parking of vehicles.
7. Maintain vigilance and promptly report any suspicious activities or security concerns to the appropriate personnel.
8. Respond to inquiries and provide directions or assistance to visitors and employees.
9. Maintain logs, records, and incident reports as required.
10. Collaborate with security personnel and other staff members to maintain a safe and secure environment.
11. Follow established procedures for emergency situations, such as fire alarms, evacuation, or medical emergencies.
12. Perform regular inspections of the gate area, checking for any maintenance or repair needs.
13. Assist with maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of the gatehouse and surrounding areas.
14. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
15. Attend training sessions or meetings related to security protocols, emergency response, or new security technologies.

Qualifications:

1. Previous experience in gatekeeping, security, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
2. Familiarity with security procedures and protocols.
3. Knowledge of access control systems and security equipment.
4. Excellent observation and attention to detail to detect and report suspicious activities or security breaches.
5. Strong communication skills to interact with visitors, employees, and security personnel.
6. Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and maintain composure.
7. Basic computer skills to record information and operate security equipment.
8. Physical fitness and ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
9. Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
10. Integrity and adherence to confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
11. Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
12. Flexibility to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
13. Valid driver's license may be required for certain positions.
14. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
