Job summary:

The Fundraising & Grants Officer will be a critical member of the Program Team, reporting directly to the Eexcutive Director, #FixPolitics. The Fundraising & Grants Officer works across all program areas, including collaborating with finance and IT to ensure effective and efficient fundraising and grantmaking processes to help achieve #FixPolitics’ strategic objectives in Nigeria. The Funding & Grants Officer provides support in fundraising, grant management, funding research, report writing, budget management, and in the development of documents and policies.

Responsibilities:

• Leads in writing funding and grant applications in consultation with the Executive Director, #FixPolitics;
• Assists in donor reporting processes through the coordination, compiling, drafting, and editing of high-quality donor reports, ensuring compliance with #Fixpolitiics and donor requirements;
• Communicates regularly with finance and program departments and assists in financial reporting to donors by verifying their compliance with the approved budget and all contractual obligations;
• Advises staff and program partners on donor regulations and internal #FixPolitics procedures;
• Assists in compiling and disseminating funding and grant information to other departments and donors
• Works in collaboration with the Finance department for the submission of donor requests;
• Research, determine and curate an updated record of all funding sources for #FixPolitics;
• Designs and initiate funding ideas in consultation with the Executive Director, #FixPolitics;
• Maintains a record of all #FixPolitics funding and grant activities as well as donors and prospective donors of #FixPolitics
• Advises #FixPolitics program and finance team members on appropriate action for grant related challenges and coordinate with the #FixPolitics  Director in decision making;

Essential Skills, Experience and Knowledge

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant field;
• At least 3 years of experience working in similar role with NGOs and donors;
• Excellent English communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to support a fundraising program and grants management system;
• Demonstrated ability to produce high quality and analytical written work in
• English. Experience in editing written work in English is also ideal;
• Experience in fundraising, grants, reporting, and programme development;
• Self-motivated, target-driven and an entrepreneurial approach;
• A team player with highly developed interpersonal, influencing and relationship skills;
• Ability to manage her/his time effectively; able to adapt priorities to respond to changing demands;
