Frontend Developer at AfriHealth Ltd

• Afrihealth is seeking a skilled and innovative Frontend Developer to join our team and play a key role in maintaining and building user-friendly, responsive, and accessible web and mobile applications. You will be responsible for implementing high-quality code, optimizing performance, and ensuring that our applications comply with industry standards such as HIPAA, GDPR, and other healthcare data protection regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain responsive and accessible user interfaces for web and mobile applications using modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js, Angular).
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate wireframes and prototypes into high-quality code.
• Optimize application performance for fast load times, smooth interactions, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Integrate APIs and backend services, ensuring seamless communication between frontend and backend systems.
• Work closely with product managers to understand requirements and deliver solutions that improve user experience and efficiency.
• Conduct code reviews, write documentation, and follow best practices for maintainable and scalable frontend development.
• Debug and resolve UI/UX issues, ensuring a seamless and error-free experience for users.
• Stay up to date with the latest frontend technologies, and industry best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience in frontend development.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React.js, Vue.js, or Angular).
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and GraphQL for seamless frontend-backend integration.
• Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles, accessibility (WCAG), and responsive design.
• Familiarity with state management libraries such as Redux, Vuex, or Context API.
• Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and frontend performance optimization.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and prioritize technical initiatives.
• Customer-Centric Mindset: A strong focus on customer needs and the ability to balance technical requirements with user experience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced startup is an added advantage.
