Foreman Rigger / Erector at BGI Energy Services Limited

Responsibilities

• Performing rigging and lifting duties;
• Ensuring a safe working environment for personnel
• Safe operation of the deck crane;
• Checking of quality and quantity of required equipment
• Manipulate rigging lines, hoists and pulling gear to move or support heavy equipment.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of scaffolders, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure that all team members are working safely and efficiently.
• Project Planning and Coordination: Plan and coordinated scaffolding projects, including reviewing blueprints and specifications, estimating materials and labor requirements, and scheduling work.
• Quality Control: Ensure that all scaffolding work meets quality standards, including inspecting work, identifying defects, and implementing corrective actions.
• Safety Management: Ensure that all scaffolding work are performed safely, including implementing safety procedures, conducting safety training, and enforcing safety regulations.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all scaffolding equipment are properly maintained, including performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and scheduling repairs.
• Communication and Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate with other departments, including production, quality, and maintenance, to ensure that all projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for team members, including mentoring, coaching, and training programs.

Requirements

• HND, B.Tech or B.Eng.
• Opito Rigger stage 2 is mandatory
• Working on heights
• Experience as a rigger for several years
• Experience in heavy lift crane vessels
• FPSO experience is a MUST.
• International experience in Nigeria, Africa is a plus
• Experience working effectively in a multicultural team
• Good knowledge of the English language, verbal and written.
