Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Foreman to oversee and manage all site activities related to excavation, grading, and soil compaction operations. The ideal candidate will ensure project timelines, budget, and safety standards are met while coordinating with subcontractors and equipment operators.

Location: Abakaliki, Ebonyi State

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage earthwork operations, including excavation, backfilling, and compaction activities.
• Coordinate daily work schedules for site personnel and subcontractors.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of heavy equipment, including bulldozers, graders, and excavators.
• Monitor project progress to ensure work aligns with design specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
• Conduct safety briefings and enforce compliance with site safety protocols.
• Inspect site conditions and prepare daily and weekly progress reports.
• Identify and resolve operational issues that may affect project timelines.
• Maintain clear communication with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Manage material resources efficiently to minimize waste and maximize productivity.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in earthwork or construction supervision.
• Proven experience with large-scale excavation, grading, and roadwork projects.
• Proficient in operating or supervising heavy equipment operations.
• Strong understanding of soil types, compaction techniques, and survey methods.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards on construction sites.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Relevant certifications in occupational health and safety is an advantage
