Fleet Manager at UUL United Logistics NIG LTD

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Fleet Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of our vehicle and vessel fleet operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that our fleet is safe, compliant, cost-efficient, and always ready to support our logistics and shipping operations across Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of all company fleet assets including trucks, trailers, and support vehicles
• Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and extend vehicle lifespan
• Monitor fleet performance using telematics and GPS tracking systems
• Manage fuel consumption, cost tracking, and identify opportunities for cost reduction
• Ensure full compliance with road transport regulations, vehicle licensing, and insurance requirements
• Recruit, train, and supervise drivers — enforcing safety standards and driving behaviour policies
• Liaise with vendors, mechanics, and spare parts suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effective servicing
• Prepare weekly and monthly fleet performance reports for management
• Coordinate vehicle allocation and routing to optimise delivery timelines
• Manage fleet documentation including vehicle papers, third-party insurance, and road worthiness certificates.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. / HND in Transport Management, Logistics, Engineering, or related field
• Professional certification in fleet or transport management is an advantage
• Valid driver's licence

Experience

• Minimum 1 year(s) of fleet management experience
• Prior experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain is required
• Experience managing a fleet of 20+ vehicles

Skills & competencies

• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and diagnostics
• Proficiency in fleet management software and GPS tools
• Budget management and cost control
• Knowledge of FRSC and Nigerian transport regulations
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent analytical and reporting ability
• Problem-solving under pressure
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
