Fleet Manager at Blume Nigeria Limited

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly organized and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee the company\'s vehicle fleet operations. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for managing vehicle maintenance, ensuring efficient utilization of vehicles, monitoring driver performance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Ensure all company vehicles are regularly serviced, maintained, and repaired as needed. Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize vehicle lifespan.
• Vehicle Tracking and Monitoring: Use GPS and other tracking systems to monitor vehicle locations, driver activities, and route efficiency. Analyze data to optimize fleet operations and improve fuel efficiency.
• Oversee the hiring, training, and performance monitoring of drivers. Ensure drivers comply with company policies, safety standards, and legal requirements.
• Ensure efficient utilization of all vehicles by planning and scheduling routes to minimize fuel consumption and operational costs. Coordinate vehicle assignments and replacements as needed.
• Ensure the fleet complies with all relevant government regulations, safety standards, and insurance requirements. Implement and enforce vehicle safety protocols, including regular inspections and driver training.
• Manage the fleet budget, controlling operational costs such as fuel, repairs, maintenance, and insurance. Track and analyze costs to find opportunities for savings.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, maintenance, repairs, fuel consumption, and driver performance. Provide regular reports to management on fleet performance, costs, and any issues.
• Respond to vehicle accidents and incidents, ensuring proper documentation, investigation, and resolution.

Qualifications:

•  Proven experience as a Fleet Manager or in a similar role, preferably within logistics or transportation.
•  Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, fleet management software, and GPS tracking systems.
•  Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
•  Ability to lead and manage a team of drivers and fleet staff.
•  Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•  A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
•  Knowledge of legal regulations related to fleet management and safety.
