Fleet Manager at AIM Consultants

Aim Group Limited is an integrated company with different subsidiaries in the Telecommunication, Broadcasting, Engineering, and Hospitality Sector. The company is located at several states in Nigeria such as Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano and Onitsha. We are currently recruiting to fill the position below:  

Reports To:                  Group General Manager, Technical.

Role Overview:

The Fleet Manager is in charge of all facets of the transportation activities of the organization.

 Responsibilities:

•  Keep the business’ fleet running as efficiently as possible —       maximizing its capacity and minimizing its cost
• Plan and prepare annual fleet budget, expenditures and analyze   fleet financial consequences.
• Develop and implement fleet management standard operational procedures by advocating best practices, maintain departmental compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Introduce best practice fleet management procedures which includes but not limited to vehicle scheduling, tracking, maintenance, data reporting etc.
• Ensure that both staff and company assets are conveyed to their various destinations on time.
• Effectively manage vehicles, drivers, and other assets, ensuring that drivers are as efficient as possible.
• Ensure fleet availability meets all requests by scheduling, forecasting and surveying current user trends.
• Perform vehicle registration, insurance and documentation regarding induction of new vehicles in existing fleet and existing vehicle renewals.
• Monitor and ensure fleet operation in compliance with local and state rules and regulations.
• Streamline and monitor fuel purchase system for all vehicles and drivers.
• Facilitate and implement corrective actions and capacity building to manage entire fleet to achieve company objectives.
• Ensure preventative maintenance to guarantee vehicles perform in peak conditions, ensure maintenance cost control.
• Plan, process and execute vehicle purchase and replacement systems.
• Negotiate, and ensure maximum cost control on maintenance prices by vetting and recommending different service vendors.
• Track vehicles and offer guidance to enhance drivers' behavior while on the road to represent the reputation of the company.
• Oversee the sale and/or auction of used vehicles as at when due
• Assisting in the recruitment of quality drivers into the fleet.
• Recordkeeping.
• Resolve disputes
• Monitor, train, rate promote and sanction drivers.

• Must possess good leadership qualities
• Must have zero tolerance for fraudulent activities
• Must be proactive and be able to pay keen attention to the smallest of details
• Must be able to motivate the drivers to ensure their full co-operation at all times
• Must be able to manage time under pressure effectively and also meet/beat deadlines
• Basic knowledge of computer applications
• Good knowledge of Fleet management software.

Qualifications and Experience Levels:

• Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred,
• HND, BTech. or any relevant degree
• A minimum of 5 years working experience in a similar role (or in a fleet management company)
