Fleet Maintenance Officer at GIG Logistics

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all vehicles in the fleet.
• Monitor vehicle condition and ensure timely servicing and repairs.
• Coordinate with external vendors, mechanics, and service providers for maintenance work.
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections to identify faults and ensure roadworthiness.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance history, repairs, and costs.
• Track and analyze fleet performance metrics (downtime, repair frequency, cost efficiency).
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, licensing, and statutory requirements.
• Manage and control spare parts inventory and workshop tools.
• Investigate and report on vehicle breakdowns and incidents, recommending corrective actions.
• Support cost optimization initiatives by reducing maintenance expenses and improving vehicle lifespan.
• Work closely with operations teams to ensure fleet availability aligns with delivery schedules.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
• 2–5 years’ experience in fleet or vehicle maintenance (preferably in logistics or transport industry)
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair processes
• Experience managing third-party service providers and workshops
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and fleet management systems
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
