Fleet Associate at Vendease

Locations: Benin City - Edo, Ibadan - Oyo, Port Harcourt - Rivers & Lagos

Job Role

• The Fleet Associate is responsible for planning, directing, managing, coordinating, and supervising the programs for acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement, tracking, and disposal of fleet vehicles.
• The fleet associate also serves as the primary contact concerning the vehicle fleet and operations and manages 3PL relations.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding new and keeping track of every transporter
• Keep track of every fleet at all times
• 3PL relations and onboarding
• Directing, managing, coordinating, and supervising movement from the market to customers' sites.
• Maintenance of fleet, purchasing, deciding whether to lease or buy, assisting to recruit drivers
• Decision making on the aspect of acquisition approach (To lease or to buy)
• Provide assistance to recruit new drivers, train and develop them
• Develops and administers vehicle/equipment asset management processes from procurement to disposition.
• Create vehicle purchase specifications and purchase vehicles for all University departments.
• Implement cost-effectiveness measures and manage budgets
• Provide strategies to ensure logistics effectiveness
• Create and establish fleet policies and procedures
• Analyzing data to increase business operational efficiency.
• Utilizing GPS systems to monitor drivers and track vehicles in case of theft.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or Accounting or any other related course
• 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience as an auto mechanic
• Experience in creating and establishing fleet policies and procedures
• Experience in price, spec, and purchase or lease vehicles.
• Understand and track total cost of ownership (TCO)
• Budgetary experience negotiating skills
