Financial Data Systems Analyst at straitPay

The Role:

• We are searching for a Financial Data Systems Analyst to join us in overseeing financial transaction data collection over the life cycle of customers and the production of management information. You will have both an immediate and lasting impact on all our operations, helping us to strategize, perform impactful data systems controls, furnish leadership with crucial information and help us grow the business.
• You will assess datasets, create models, assess currency exchange rate risks, recommend currency exchange rate levels and ensure management is getting critical data information for effective decision-making. Ultimately, you will form part of a team that maintains our business’ financial health and increases profitability.

What You'll Do:

• Own and manage the gathering of all necessary transaction reports covering customer life cycle and financial data points Produce periodic management information tracking daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual operations generated from transaction data points and market information.
• Monitor and conduct peer analysis of competitor currency exchange rate offerings to support product and marketing teams.
• Use transaction data to extract user behavioural patterns and liaise with product and marketing teams on strategy formulation.
• Manage currency exchange rates daily.
• Ensuring the integrity of accounting information reconciling daily transaction collections and payouts tracked against system-generated records and escalating any financial discrepancies.
• Periodically improve and document all accounting control procedures, identifying system issues and making recommendations for improvements.
• Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing compliance, and advising management on needed actions.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Experience in finance, accounting, reporting, data and systems in the fintech, payment or remittance industry.
• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance, having a master’s degree is a plus.
• Good understanding of currency exchange rate market and conversion across different markets.
• Ability to use MS Excel or spreadsheets in calculating and performing currency exchange conversions.
• Knowledge of business processes and data flows across all systems within the financial architecture.
• Data, process, reporting and control-oriented with a proven track record in defining key data requirements to drive consistency and report automation.
• Strong ability to apply critical strategic thinking to resolve problems.
• Ability to prioritize effectively and work with a distributed team.
• Able to work effectively with MS Suite, G-Suite, and Project management tools like ClickUp.
• Strong detail and deadline orientation.
