Financial Controller - FBN Regulated at CapitalSage Technology Limited

Role Summary

• The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing FBN Regulated Business. There are 4 legal entities. The role ensures accurate financial reporting on monthly basis, AOP preparation, business model preparation adherence to regulatory requirements, and supports business decision-making through financial insights.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting

• Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
• Manage general ledger, accruals, provisions, and reconciliations
• Intercompany reconciliations

Regulatory & Compliance

• Manage statutory reporting requirements (CBN filings)
• Liaise with regulators, auditors, and tax authorities.

Asset Quality & Risk Monitoring

• Monitor loan portfolio performance (PAR 30/60/90, NPLs)
• Oversee Expected Credit Loss (ECL) provisioning and PAR
• Track fraud losses, chargebacks, and provisioning
• Proper accounting of Interest on investments
• POS deployment and utilization, highlighting assets not in proper use.

Budgeting & Financial Planning

• Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting exercises
• Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights
• Partner with business teams to drive financial performance
• Support capital planning and funding requirements

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

• Establish and strengthen internal control frameworks
• Ensure proper documentation and audit trails
• Drive automation and efficiency in finance processes
• Ensure proper utilization of the ERP and financials process
• Review changes in the propriety software and sign off to ensure no gaps in finance process.

 Audit & Taxation

• Coordinate internal and external audits
• Manage audit queries and ensure timely closure
• Oversee corporate tax (CIT), VAT, WHT compliance
• Ensure proper provisioning for tax and contingent liabilities

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
• Professional certification ACCA / ICAN
• 8–12 years of experience in finance/accounting
• Prior experience in Capital markets is highly preferred
