Job Description

• Successful candidate will be involved in long-term business planning, data analysis, budget control, revenue assurance, stress testing and reporting on financial performance and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). He/She will be responsible for financial planning and strategy, managing profitability, managing relationships with banks, fund raising and dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
• Establish long term strategic direction and planning including budgets, accounting policies, procedures, processes and system of internal controls to ensure protection of assets, accuracy and reliability of financial information and financial reporting.
• Ensuring credibility of the finance team by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts and providing Executive Management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
• Ensure effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and rules for financial and tax reporting.
• Reporting monthly/quarterly on the institution’s financial performance, cash flows, projected financing requirements and finance availability in the light of current performance and business plan objectives.
• Performs all the finance & accounting functions of the institution. (Preparation and posting of accounting ledgers / transactions / instruments, daily and monthly reconciliation of all correspondence bank accounts, preparation of Management Accounts, Tax preparation, filing and remittance, maintenance of the institution’s book of account, maintaining the fixed asset register etc.)
• Research and explore various financing options and propose optimal approach appropriate for the organisation.
• Preparation of reports and financial statements in line with CBN and other regulatory requirements
• Ensure profitable margins on products are achieved and maintained.
• Liaising with both external and internal auditors.

Qualification and Requirements

• Minimum of B.Sc or HND in Accounting / Finance / Economics or any related field
• Financial services experience is compulsory
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel & Word;
• Good knowledge of IFRS and Management Accounting
• Good knowledge of CBN regulatory reporting
• Qualified Accountant (ACCA or ICAN)
• Minimum of 5 Years relevant professional experience in a similar role.
