    Finance Officer

    Job Summary

    BA Ports Services Limited is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for administering accounting operations to meet legal requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Keep accurate records of all daily transactions.
    • Processing sales invoices, receipts, and payments.
    • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
    • Update internal systems with financial data.
    • Prepare monthly and annual financial reports.
    • Reconcile bank statements.
    • Process tax payments and returns (VAT. PAYE. CITA. Education Tax)
    • Participate in financial audits.
    • Prepare staff monthly payroll, process & remit pension, and other statutory deductions.
    • Balancing accounts.
    • Paying regular bills for the company.
    • Handling supplier invoices by recording and approving or denying the payments.
    • Working in several currency accounts to track spending across the different sections of the company.
    • Process Journals.
    • Prepare Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Trial Balance reports for senior management.

    Requirements

    Educational and Work Experience

    • Minimum of BSc or HND in Finance/ Accounting Higher educational qualification with 3-4 years relevant work experience in Accounting / Finance. A professional certification in Accounting (ACA, ACCA) is an added advantage.

    Skills and Competencies

    •  Good knowledge and understanding of finance best practices, IFRS, and other applicable accounting standards. Basic knowledge of accounting packages and systems, preferably QuickBooks. Good organizational skills, good data gathering, analysis, and problem-solving skills. High ethical standards and integrity. Proficiency in the use of MS Office tools. Good communication and interpersonal skills
