Tearfund is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager in Nigeria.
Do you have in depth knowledge in the maintenance of system of financial record-keeping with provides the management with timely, accurate and meaningful financial management information to enable them to monitor and manage the programmes (partners and field offices?)
Do you have solid understanding of maintaining a system of solid internal controls? Are you well experienced in managing institutional donors funding and in audit or investigations. Do you have proven experience working with implementing partners and in strategic financial planning? How about proficient experience in project design and management as well donor financial compliance and in managing people. Do you have MBA in Finance or MSc in Finance/Accounting/Auditing? Responsibilities
The Finance Manager will collaborate and coordinate, in conjunction with Country Director, country and region teams, all aspects of Tearfund's financial Work in Nigeria. He/she under the supervision of the country Director, leads on all aspects of financial plan to support programme implementation in accordance with Tearfund's financial planning guidelines.
He/she will monitor funding pipeline for the programmes and supervise the preparation and submission for approval for annual core budget to the Country Director and Regional Finance lead.
He/she will build the capacity of Tearfund Nigeria staff and partners to strengthen the financial management of the country offices and partner organizations.
The Finance Manager will lead the project and support finance function management as specified on the job description/profile
The successful candidate will
Have Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or a related. MBA in Finance, MSC in Finance/Accounting/Auditing preferred.
Have Internationally recognised Professional Accounting or Auditing Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CCAB recognised qualification)
Have Minimum 5 years' experience in finance position with medium business/medium NGO/government agency
Be Experienced in major donor regulations (US, UK, Canada Governments, GOG, EC/ECHO, UN agencies) is a MUST
Have Practical knowledge of financial systems, internal financial controls & procedures and staff management skills is a MUST.
Have Prior experience working with implementing partners and strategic planning
Have Proven experience in managing people
Have Proven donor financial compliance experience
Be Experienced in project design and management
Be Experienced of implementing new processes, procedures and controls
Be Experienced in finance training for finance and non-finance professionals
Be Experience of working with and supporting NGO grant partners
Demonstrate ability in financial capacity building
Be Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to generate financial reports and meet set deadlines and with good integrity.
Have Leadership and Administrative skills
Be Computer literate in financial management software
Have Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English and being able to communicate complex financial data to non-finance staff
Have the Ability to work cross-culturally and build relationships with staff across multiple locations
Have the Ability to lead, participate and facilitate collective staff prayer and bible studies etc.
