Finance Manager at Hive HR

Role Overview

• We are looking for a Finance Manager to own the finance function end-to-end.
• You will be a member of the founding team, helping to shape the company’s processes, systems, and financial strategy from the ground up.This is a hands-on role that blends day-to-day accounting with strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Day-to-Day Financial Operations: Own accounting operations, including reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll administration, ensuring accurate records in our accounting systems.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Manage month-end close and deliver accurate monthly financial reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) to the founders, investors, and board.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, prepare rolling 12-month cash flow forecasts, and provide profitability analyses and investment recommendations to support decision-making.
• Compliance & Treasury: Ensure compliance with Nigerian financial regulations, manage relationships with external auditors and bookkeeping partners, and oversee cash flow management to ensure financial sustainability.
• Fundraising Support: Prepare investor-ready financial statements, valuation models, and due diligence materials to support fundraising efforts.

Requirements

• 4+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally with a mix of startup and audit / accounting firm backgrounds.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) and advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills.
• Strong understanding of Nigerian tax and regulatory requirements for fintech or real estate companies.
