Finance BP Senior Manager at PZ Cussons

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the business has a robust Risk and opportunity portfolio identified during business planning meetings is managed properly.
• Produce the monthly business report providing detailed explanation of variances versus plan.
• Ensure category and brand variances are correctly analysed into the price, volume, mix and cost variance and corrective actions required are reported to the marketing team/Commercial team
• Carry out new product development analysis and Capex financial justification analysis.  Prepare pre and post evaluations of new product development, consumer, and trade promotions.
• Work with the various function of the business to provide financial decision support and take a proactive approach to cost control. (GM analysis, promotion appraisal, price review, MIs)
• Report and monitor overhead and media spend monthly and ensure variances are explained and understood by budget holders.
• Manage the financial month end closing for TEC and ensure that the results are accurate and clearly understood. Ensure that the monthly financial results reflect the true picture without any need for later “prior period adjustments”
• Support commercial strategy and planning for the regional team for their annual 5YP – including monthly trends actual versus budget.
• Support the team on all other ad-hoc activities.

Internal & External Relationships:

• Most significant relationship is with Sales, Marketing and CBS finance.
• Networks include Human Resources, After-Sales Service & Supply Chain.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Needed:

• Bachelor’s degree/ HND in Finance or Accounting
• Membership of any of the following accounting bodies such as ICAN, ACCA, CIMA, CFA and ICAEW with emphasis on those who have completed their exams.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in an FMCG environment with 10 - 12 relevant operational experience in Finance
• Meticulous and analytical approach to data
• Well-developed corporate communication skills and deep proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Experience of interfacing with senior management.
• Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
