1)   Finance Associate (NUN-BUSR-001)

The Role

The Finance Department seeks to appoint a competent individual that can analyze data, prepare financial reports, maintain proper records of bookkeeping for daily activities/transactions and perform basic financial accounting.  Specifically, the Finance Associate will (serve as a):

• Front line customer service representative, addressing inquiries of student payments, balances, fee reconciliations and general complaints.
• Provide assurance by ensuring all revenues accruing to the University are properly charged against students.
• Analyze students’ payments as well as ensuring all students’ payments are properly validated before acknowledged and accounted for.
• Ensure adequate records of bookkeeping over revenue, account receivables and deferred revenue are maintained for financial control purposes.
• Reconciliation of accounts to ensure proper bookkeeping.
• Manage credit control and leakages.
• Provide support with external audit reviews.
• Ad-hoc tasks as assigned by line-manager.

Qualifications, experience, and attributes

• A minimum qualification of a B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or any management related field.
• One (1) to three (3) years’ experience in a similar accounting role.
• Affiliation with ICAN or ACCA is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must possess good Communication, Time Management, and Interpersonal Skills.
• Competence in Data Interpretation, Analysis and Presentation.
• Must possess good customer relationship skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
