    Field Enumerator Program Officer

    About the role

    • Taimaka is seeking a dedicated Field Monitoring Program Officer to support our measurement and evaluation work in Gombe State.
    • The Field Monitoring Program Officer will help study programmatic successes in order to replicate them, and investigate weak areas where we can improve performance.
    • This role demands excellent CMAM knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
    • The Program Officer will report to the Program Optimization and Data Lead; and will supervise several Field Enumerators conducting household visits checking on program performance.

    Key Responsibilities 
    Data Collection & Supervision:

    • Supervise and support a team of field survey enumerators to verify the accuracy of height, weight, and MUAC (mid-upper arm circumference) measurements taken in OTPs (outpatient treatment programs)
    • Develop and communicate survey schedules, transportation plans, equipment distribution, and data collection protocols
    • Ensure enumeration equipment is functional, well-maintained, and available
    • Request and report payments needed for field activities
    • Conduct audits of field activities and digital data to ensure accuracy and reliability
    • Train and assess enumerators on survey protocols, household data collection, and use of Open Data Kit (ODK)
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with communities.

    Data Management & Reporting:

    • Track our program dashboard’s key indicators (nonresponders, defaulters, absentees, community deaths, and transitions between OTP and ITP)
    • Conduct audits of digital data, including plausibility checks, to ensure accuracy and reliability
    • Provide input and ideas to improve OTP activities based on our key indicators
    • Identify OTP strengths; develop and implement activities to investigate and replicate their successes
    • Identify OTP sites where improvements can be made; develop and implement activities to investigate and recommend improvements alongside the program staff responsible for these sites
    • Review collected data, assist with data cleaning, and provide input on the final analysis

    Qualifications and Experience
    Required:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Fluency in English and Hausa (spoken and written)
    • Previous experience in tracking and improving performance based on key indicators
    • Proficiency in Excel
    • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
    • Ability to give feedback in a way that is motivating and that improves performance.

    Prefered:

    • Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or Statistics preferred
    • Previous experience with CMAM
    • Experience managing household surveys or research in community health
    • Proven experience supervising anthropometric data collection (MUAC, height, weight) and qualitative data collection
    • Strong skills in community mapping, household numbering, and random sampling
    • Demonstrated skills in data cleaning and digital monitoring
    • Experience with ENA, R, and/or ODK/Kobo.
