Drive and maintain the Units vehicle under optimum condition in readiness for on and off station activities.
Perform necessary cleaning and washing of the Units vehicle.
Ensure vehicle documents are complete and update at all time.
Support trial establishment and maintenance both on and off station.
Support tuber quality phenotyping for yam trials.
Support phenotyping of yam plants at vegetative, harvest and post-harvest stages in the field and screen house.
Support harvesting of trials on the field and screen house
Perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION:
National diploma in Agriculture or any other related field with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience on clonal breeding in a well-structured environment.
COMPETENCIES:
The ideal candidate must:
Have excellent interpersonal, multi-tasking, organizational and communication skills.
Be competent in sample preparation for virus indexing.
Be strict observance of protocol for genetic purity of yam in-vitro plantlets under conservation.
Have ability to work in a cross-cultural and multidisciplinary environment.
